Started....

Otis I just got done putting up some coyotes. The far left is your new style of board. They are perfect for those bigger coyotes and the others are great for the different sizes. The new tail boards are perfect and work exactly like I was intending! Hopefully have some more to put up tomorrow.

Look like they are getting some hair on them. Flanks and crotches full? Gonna start sending you my coyotes too,LOL.

Yep they are furring up real nice. The younger female not as much as the 2 males but not far behind. I fleshed them and then tumbled them in saw dust and borax... Cleaned em up real nice and the wife even said the garage does smell like a stink dog but just smelly lol

They look good for DOGS! You do good work and should be proud of taking care of your catch.

Picked up 2 more coyotes and another red today.




Good luck cattrappernv I am sure things will pick up. It's been in the 60s for the last week here but forecast shows a cold front coming in so maybe the critters will start moving.

Don't have many traps out but things are still trudging along here! Hope everyone's catching.

Wish I had some cool pics to share but I don't!!! Trapping has been super bad! Wish I had something to share. Kinda weird not to be posting pics??? Snow has hammered me a couple of times and the cats just don't love me anymore! Oh well I will just keep at it and hope one spotted belly will feel bad for me.

It's not just you. Lot of cat guys around here that only have 5,2,1 cats and have been hard at it almost all season. Hopefully things will pick up for everyone. There sure seems to be a lot of rabbits around here this year... like everywhere. Wonder if the kitties aren't having to move for food. I have also been out a lot this year deer hunting and trapping and have yet to see a chucker!! Crazy always see birds where I trap... anyone else seeing this?

Haven't seen a chuckar all season.
Feel lucky if you have rabbit and bunnies.
Have seen little to none for rabbits.
Have found some pockets with a few rabbits.

I think that cold snap last winter and then another dry summer really took a tole on the chukar. Hope they are able to bounce back I really enjoy chukar hunting.

Same in my area. Yotes are the only thing im getting. no cat sign and the guys I talked to only have a handful and that's checking patrnered every other day with over 100 traps.

Love the pictures. Is it common for big Tom's to kill other cats while trapped? Seems like the rabbits and chukar are way down in washoe county this year too.

Once again got skunked on the trapline. I wish I knew what the cats do when we get the weather like we have had here lately.

I've been setting out traps with a young guy who is learning to trap. Before the last snow, we found quite a bit of sign, but after the first check of equipment, nothing. Set more traps and snares out, and hoping for some action on next check.

I was starting to take it personal with all these empty traps .. But it appears I'm not alone.

Hoping for a turn around in the mourning.. However I won't hold my breath cuz I don't look good Blue.

Maybe them Cats have been waiting for this Christmas Break at school so i can have my grand kids with me to collect some spots..

I figure I'm in the right spots . I have a couple Long Liners that have pushed their way into one of the canyons I'm running. These guys have come from way up North. So I'm hoping to out work them. I was not looking forward to 24 hr checks but if it keeps everyone on the up-n-up it is worth it.
I have met one of them face to face and he seems fairly plumb. He was helpful in a couple way
1st ) - He was finding some of my sets .. so that tells me I'm not too far off on my placement since he looked there also.

2nd ) - He did offer some constructive criticism on some things he saw at my set.

It was cool to exchange ideas with someone that is consistently in the High double digits of cat trapping. It was like chatting with you fine trappers on this thread but face to face..

And the backs, big heavy backs, just not pale like you NV guys are used too,lol.
