Since you mentioned the picture, I thought I'd post it. My very first quad and I was able to get it on a cell phone camera! I was worried I'd run out of light checking after school. 100 feet down the road was a double waiting. If only my other sets were like that

Another nice run Cameron2. Those coyotes down there even look like they have some good fur on em.... Cool how they both have the white tips too. I get few are far between when it comes to that here.

Only 3 today but did have a nice double with another big male coyote. Only had him by 2 toes so he didn't make the live photo.

Nice job guys. I finally was able to get some sets in today with my sons. My oldest put in four sets by himself today and we are looking forward to checking them.

Wish my dad would have even let me touch a trap at his age. Doin right Leo good job man hope he catches 4 for 4.

Not the double I set for, but it will do! I skinned the badger and saved the skull, we will see if it was worth the time :/ Good job on the big ole coyote and the double Lance. Leo, I agree, I am rooting for a 4 for 4 day and your oldest will never look at trapping he same!

Great picture teach! Wish I knew and understood badger fur better! I just never know if a badger is worth $5 or $100. Skinned what I thought was a good one and got offered $17 for it... I kept it and got it tanned instead. Hope you do well with it Teach.

Well today I put up a couple more coyotes and ground up all my coyote glands from last year.... Lost my breakfast in doing so. All I can say is if you keep glands grind them the year that you get them it was rough. So I did lol ground up all the glands that I have collected from this year already. Should be a nice paste by next season. Hope everyone is getting geared up for cat season. Right around the corner.  Good luck to all and post up some pictures!

Sorry no pics from me yet. I am gearing up for cat season and was going to start building sets tomorrow, but with the forecast I think I will hold off until the weekend. Looks like winter may turn out to be real after all. I was starting to forget what it was like.

Oh come on Tracy you are the fox and cat whisperer.... Much better than a stink dog! That is a pretty amazing catch too. I have never even caught one missing a toe. Happy Thanksgiving to all! Enjoy the families and fun!

Tick Tock Tick Tock! First check on this seasons cat line for me in about 7 hours! This is just like Christmas Eve when I was a kid. Cant sleep. Hope i have avoided a lump of coal. Good luck to all of you on your lines. Can't wait to see whats under the trees!

I have two cat sets out right now and each of them caught a "cat" today.

So that's what they look like. You are right Lance, I've been looking under the wrong kinda trees. In fact I may just put up a big sage brush this year in the house to change my luck.

Good looking cats guys. My first check is tomorrow and I hope I have Christmas present waiting under a tree or a sage brush. My youngest son is coming with me for the first time on a bobcat line. I hope he brings me good luck.

Well that's a good thing. Never caught one before but would like too. Neat little critter. I wonder if we even have em up here?

Generally speaking they seem to like that black volcanic rock stuff. I've caught them miles away from it, so they aren't limited to it, but if I have a black rock pile and I use fish oil or fish for bait, its a pretty decent chance I'll catch one there. You just never know.

When I was in college in Cedar City, Utah (quite a ways from any black volcanic rock), one of the biology professors let me store all my furs in his shed out back of his house. He lived in the center of town. One night I caught a ringtail cat in the shed. Never would have guessed there would be one there.

Man those picture need to be framed and hung on your wall. Congrats on a beautiful cat and a good day your your little man!

Hey NV sage yes there are a few ringtail in this neck of the woods i caught two in the rubies back in 2010. both in live traps. i have them tanned if you would like to see them some time. otherwise i had my first check last night and no luck so far.

Got a picture at work the other day of the one and only Ring Tail I have ever seen alive.

When I walked up to this set I saw a track that I thought was a lion. Then all I could see was what is in this picture. Look close and you can see it.

At this point I was sure a lion had eaten most of my cat and stuffed the rest against the rock.  I then proceeded to throw a fit for about 30 seconds before my wife calmed me down and said I don't think it was eaten.
