| Well I have been slacking big time. Still don't have all my trapping stuff ready to go and plan on trapping coyotes by the end of this month. Been a busy summer with moving and all.... I do have my own trap shed now. Which reminds me still need to run power to that as well. Way to much stuff to do still!!!!!!! Well my uncle drew an out of stater deer rifle that opens Monday so been doing a little scouting for his hunt. Pulled some trail cameras today that I had put out for deer.... Or at least I thought I did. Ended up with some new ideas of an area to trap. Leo you gotta post up some your trail cam pics man!! Also was able to check out some coyote fur today. They will be more then ready around here by the end of this month. Almost forgot about my new trapping rig. Going to be nice not freezing my..... Thumbs off anymore on the quad! Hope everyone is getting jacked for this up coming season and adds to this post its one of the funnest threads to keep up on every year! | |

| I've been waiting forever for you to start this post NVSAGE! I finally got to prepping and waxing my traps yesterday, I have two dozen MB 550 ready to go out soon! I'm probably jumping the gun by a bit, but the plan is to get some sets out tonight when I get back to Twin Falls. Our place outside of town has been lousy with coyotes the last three weeks; they figured out our neighbor has guinea hens and chickens! Tons of prep work to get done, especially making up waxed dirt before I actually need it, but it will be nice to be checking some sets soon. | |

| Just thinking about it.... I put that GH2 out in the past and couldn't get the deer to leave it alone so thought I would try it when I put the camera out just for deer. Did get a bunch of does but no bucks this time. The wild horses sure liked to check it out as well. | |

Here are a couple of pics from the last couple of days. Did some glassing in some beautiful nevada country! Deer Camp. My uncles Nevada Muley. Also went out yesterday and found em some chuckar to take home. Had a heck of a time with some good friends and family.... Good memories for sure. Now its time to boil, dye and make some wax dirt. Was able to find another yote that would stay still long enough to get a shot. | |

| I here you nvsage. Now that my friend’s deer hunt is out of the way, I plan on setting what I can this weekend for the stink dogs. I'm not sure how much time I will have because I am still waiting for parts to show up for my trapping/hunting truck. Anyway, here is a pic of him and his buck (aka muleskinner). By the way great shot muleskinner. " /> | |

| Dang nice pics huntandfish! I got my truck part in and had some time to get a few sets in today. I plan on adding more tomorrow. So here is a rookie question, there is a snow storm cumming and I absolutely love them for cat trapping but don't know how it effects coyote sets. How do you coyote guys handle your sets with snow on them? (if you remember from last season it was my first time trapping coyotes and snow was scarce) | |

| Not sure what kind of antifreeze you are using but wax dirt is the best I have found for my area. Most of my sets are on game and cattle trails or along side of them. Once is snows I will walk those trails and kinda drag my feet to the sets starting a couple of yards on each side of the set and then just brush off the actual set with some sage brush. If it's just a skiff just brush it off and go. I personally love the dirt hole sets after just a skiff like that. I always noticed how much badger holes or even gopher mounts stand out like a sour thumb after a snow or when the snow is melting. I tried sprinkling salt over the sets as well but when things dry back up the trap usually is the only wet spot. Hope this helps and good luck. Found this picture from a couple years ago..... You can see where I had dragged my feet. | |

| Thanks Lance. I do use wax dirt as well. I just wasn't sure about clearing the set off or not. And i have tried salt in the past and learned my lesson with it. | |

| So I finally put out some traps yesterday. Had to check em today do to my work schedule and was able to pick up 1 coyotes and a badger. Putout more sets while I was out there and got some great info from the rancher about where they put all there dead cows pulled up and saw 3 coyotes leaving.... Trails and coyote tracks up the woo hoo... Need to put some more sets there next check. Anyone else catchin? Tracy did you trap for greys this season? SMILE!! Thinkn I found the only place within a 100 miles with no snow too. | |

| God I Suck! Thanks for the catch pics guys. I checked the few I have out last Tuesday which was only a few trap nights and could of posted a catch picture of a rabbit (lol). I know its early but I feel so far behind already. I really wanted to go after the dogs this fall but it isn't looking good for my time to do so. I fell behind on making wax dirt and now I've used up all I had left over. I have some dry dirt ready to make up but nothing of the amount i need or should have in stock for the season. Preparedness is the name of the game and I have no excuse to not be prepared to the level I should be. I have some serious catching up to do if I am going to succeed and at least break even this season. Going to check tomorrow but I am not feeling it at all for what ever reason. Waaa. Ok, I'm finished feeling sorry for myself and ready to go harder. Good luck guys. | |

| Well the day started out slow with a badger 1 coyote and 3 skunks..... I wasn't feelin to hot about the day. Then I pulled up on my first ever triple and boy did that get the blood a pumpin again. Headed down the valley and had a double to boot. 6 yotes total for the day and added another 6 new sets. My triple kinda hard to see but they are there! Double And this big old fluff ball. Teeth were all wore down and only had 1 partcial top K9. By far the hardest coyote I have ever skinned... He just did not want to let go of his hide and boy was he fat! All coyotes caught in dirt holes today and 3 of them with Tracy's bacon bait!!! Thank you sir. | |

| Awsesom pics guys! It doesn't look like I will be able to add anything to them any time soon. Between my lack of skill and the weather, I am at a loss with k9s for now. I have 96 hrs left for my dedication with them this season. I would like to say I am jealous of you guys but that would not be accurate. However, I am really disappointed in myself for not being prepared enough to get some catch pics of my own. Keep it up, any catch pic I get to see here gives me more drive to get my own, and thanks again for sharing. | |

| Nice job NVSAGE and Cameron2, what a way to start the season!!! Looks like we had a little snow stick down south as well as up here! Multiple catches are fun to walk up to! Hang in there moneyspots, I wasn't ready last year, but I made wax dirt as I needed it and it worked out okay. Tough part will be finding dry dirt; I saw that you got over 12 inches of the white stuff the last fee days, it'll make cat trapping much better! Checking my sets in a few minutes, hoping for a double or two | |

| Ya teach, we did get a fair amount of snow. I had 13" at my house. I did manage to get six buckets of dirt made up last weekend so I feel better about that. I am just not going to have the time I wanted to have for coyotes this fall. There is still plenty of time left if I decide not to focus so much on cats this year but that probably won't happen. I really do want to get better at coyote trapping some day. Coyotes are definitely my achilles heal in every method that I use to try and take them. I am blown away by the amount of coyote tracks I see in the snow anywhere I go in this state. I must figure out how to kill more. | |

| Nice run Cameron2! Always enjoy seeing your mountain of greys! Hang in there moneyspots..... That's about how I feel during cat season. I always learn a lot from coyote tracks in the snow. Like a hound flowing that track around lol I like to see what they stop and check out and I can see ehat they are pissing on. | |

| Well today was more of the same as far as feeling like things weren't going good. I had check all of my traps but 6 and pulled up to this. This has been one heck of a season this year already. First a Triple and a double same day... then pull up on a quad! And guess what.... 2 of them on the Bacon bait. Ryan you will be happy if you end up making it. | |
