OK, Houston . . . we have a problem.

Talked to the head Rondy chief today and we have a problem. We have waaaaayyyyyy more prizes than we do kids. If your kid shows up and goes home without a prize, then you weren't paying attention. For example, we have four .22 rifles to give away. We're a small market. Hope we can get enough kids to take home all this stuff.

That's a good thing! Soo looking forward to the rondy! Hopefully it will be a little cooler!!!!!

Can't wait... been trying to talk the wife into entering her cream cheese cookies for a desert. If she does prepare to have a stomach ache... once you have one ya just can't stop! lol I know my littlest had a blast last year so I am sure that both the girls will have fun this year. Made sure I got a camping spot with water near by so I can hose them off at the end of each day.  

Are there separate kids raffle tickets? I bought some regular ones...

Yes, Montgomery will be there.

Getting caught up guys, will have a Cummins full of them. Would have more if I didn't have to work the mountains last weekend for Richardson ground squirrels. But put them off for a few more weeks. Looking forward to meeting you guys, go easy on us cage fellas, we don't understand leg iron much anymore.

We will be going to bed sort of early cause we will be either scouting for Elk or fishing before dawn.

We will have a dog (kennel at night).

We have 17 spots reserved for the association and several others have reserved their own. I will be there early Friday afternoon and will direct the traffic to our spots. It will be first come first serve but there is also plenty of room around the campground on public land. We can also have one RV and two tents per site. Please PM me if you need more information.

Hey Cameron, bring all the stuff I told you to bring. Just wanted to tell everyone to plan on a little rain, it will make all the demos more realistic, lol. Everything is coming together for this to be an awesome event. The kids are going to have a blast with lots of games, demos and prizes. We are also having a desert competition for the ladies with a great prize for that, I'm looking for volunteers for the judging, lol. Please PM me if you need any help with anything and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone there.

Are absentee entries to the dessert competition allowed?

I do have a certain expertise with dessert eating...

There will be a number of vendors all three days as well as Matt, (Bucksnbows) has made some awesome shirts for the rendezvous and will be selling them there. We will have plenty of raffle tickets and Nevada Trappers Association memberships on sale as well. I hope to see you all there.

There are no fire restriction at the campground. I would recommend that you bring some wood with you but it is National Forest in every direction. I just thought I would pass that along and see you there, Joe

Hats off to Joe Bennett and his crew for one of the best Rendezvous I've ever been to. This event rivalled many of the Western NTA conventions that I've been to in terms of turn out, activities, quality of demos, etc. It was just top notch all the way around -- from the venue, to the facilities, the schedule of events -- everything was perfect and the whole thing ran like clockwork.

Thanks again for all those involved. When I get to work tomorrow where I can download some photos I will post a few on here.

Oh, and juste to show you how karma works -- our own NVSage sold like a bajillion raffle tickets, made a donation of a dozen MB550 4 coiled traps and another bunch of custom modified #3 LS, so he was rewarded for winning a ton of raffle prizes, including the grand prize -- a .22-250 rifle. Way to go!

WOW!!!! NVTA you guys and gals did a awesome job. Have been to a lot of these things and it was one of the best. It was a pleasure meeting some of you guys that have done business with in the past, and meeting all the new friends. Myself and my wife would like to thank all who purchased stretchers, without you you we would not be able to do what we do. That was my first time in the heart of NV, and that is awesome country, reminds me of a lot of places here in Colorado.

Our hats off to Joe and company, if that was your first try, I really would not wanna miss next year. Count us in!!!!!!!

Otie, glad you and your better half came to support us. Always good to chat, and it seems these events come and go and I realize I didn't get to spend as much time with folks as I wanted. Thanks for bringing the stretchers. Can't wait to put them to use.

Man Joe sure does know how to put on a Rendezvous and pick out a rifle ! Great to finally meet a bunch of you guys. Some I have to talked to for over 2 years and finally got to shake there hands! Demos were awesome and will definitely be trying some new things come November.

Wife and kids also had a blast... Wife said as we walked up to the entrance "smells like our garage" lol. Also a great showing by vendors. I was able to pick up everything I needed for this up coming season. Including some if Andy Weisers horse bait and his Montana long call to try out! Otis again thanks for the red fox stretchers they will be seeing some use this year for sure!!! Can't say enough good things about the entire event.... Where we going next year?!?

It was a great event and was really nice meeting everyone. I learned a lot and my kids had a blast. You could tell the kids were having fun by how dirty they keep getting. I gave up rinsing their face off.

We had a great time, too. Not much to say that hasn't been said.

Way to sum it up Dr. Fur, I agree with all the posts about the rondy. It was my first one ever and it was top notch. Thanks to Joe and company, Otis for the stretchers, Andy for the lure and bait, Tracy and John for the outstanding fur demo, Bill, Mercer, and Andy for the demos, and all the other participants. My kids said they can't wait for next year, and I can't agree more!

We had a great time !! Otis I can hardly wait to put your stretchers to work. It was nice to spend some time moving cattle.. Or "Bull Shipping" as it were..   .. This was the first Rondy for me and it will most certainly not be the last. Our grand daughters had a great time , we got home today late and they are already speaking about next year. Hey Matt thank you for building up a real nice shirt. It was nice to put faces to names from this site. I came away from this event with more education which is awesome. A Big Tip of The Hat to Joe as well as All the Faithful Minions that donated Blood,Sweat and Tears ..

Thank you all so much, it was a labor of love and a way to give back to an association that has been great to me and my family. Although I don't mind the pats on the back, this event was a group effort.  There was a ton of work that went on well before the Rondy by a bunch of great folks, many were not even members but wanted to help.  The list is way too long to list here but you know who you are and I appreciate all your help and hard work to make this event a huge success.  Thank you so much to those who provided demos and thank you to the venders.  Also thank you so much to those that helped pre-sell raffle tickets. I will let the association release the results of the raffle but it was beyond my wildest dreams.  I can say that we did sign up 18 new members including three life members.  This just adds to our associations war chest to help for our right to trap here in Nevada! I have already said that if the association so chooses, I would do it again next year.  You guys thought this one was good, wait until next year, lol.  I would like to put together a Rondy committee for next year, so if anyone wants to volunteer, just let me know.  These kinds of events take months of planning. We can learn from this Rondy how to make the next one even bigger and better, not too much bigger I hope, lol, but maybe better.  I do want to thank two people that don't even really trap too much that helped out a bunch and that is Kes and Rachael, Kes cooked and Rachael kept those kids moving all day long, you guys thought I had the tough job, Rachael worked the hardest of anyone hands down.  And thank you Kes for bringing the BBQ and doing an awesome job cooking, we went through almost 200 burgers and 45 hot dogs. I wish I would have had a little more time to visit but I did meet some great folks at the Rondy. Thanks again for all those that helped to make this event a great success and I can't wait for the next one. Joe

This was one of the genius activities for the kids. A couple of seasoned, expert government coyote trappers took these kids, one on one, and taught them on their specific level of understanding. It was awesome.
