This year's cats

Here are a couple of pictures of this year’s cats after they have been prepped for the sale. They are from left to right caught from early season to late season (The first one caught three days after season opening and the one on the right caught on the day I was pulling traps). The one on the far right is the plainest cat I’ve ever caught. I figure I did us all a favor to remove him from the gene pool. They measure 42”, 33”, 36”, 43”, 37” and 37”. I’ll be taking them to the sale in Mountain Home on the 17th so we’ll see how they grade out and what they will bring.

that cat has some jordan in him, he got some good air in that last picture, nice cats!!!!

My second year trapping one cat and 12 grey foxes at the auction in NM we had 5 buyers got 24 apeice for foxes and cat 500.00 cant wait till next year learned alot from this site thanks guys!!!!!!!

I plan on it. I learned some last year and thought I about had some of it figured out. This year was a different kind of winter and didn't do as well as I thought I might, but did better than last year.

I know you will do much better next year. You do a good job of putting up fur and you have the desire to improve. You can't stop a person who loves what they do and has the desire and willingness to improve.

Hey Jack nice collection. I am a 52 year old first timer at this game and loving it and kickin myself for not starting 30 plus years ago when the idea first hit me. When i hit the Fallon sale man did i leave with a wealth of info for next season in very large part to the great trappers that i had the chance to speak with... and some keen observation...Just sayin.
That vertical from the cat on the catch pole was great.. never a dull moment. Well if i can outwit this computer i will try to post a pic of one of my checks that made the season outstanding.
And hey BUCKSNBOWS our son loved the sweat shirt as well as everyone that has seen them.

OK - Back from the sale this weekend and here is how the cats graded out. In decending order they rated 1,4,5,3,2 and 6 with #1 going for 701 and #6 (the ugly one) going for 91.
