| If we caught something every day (and we all wish we could), it would be called killing rather than trapping. We all have those zero days, and we hopefully learn from them to appreciate the good catch days. | |

| Livestock is a love-hate relationship with me. I love to have them around when I'm trapping coyotes, but hate it when I'm after cats. If you use a lure or scent in livestock areas, make sure it contains no salt or sodium in it. This will attract cows, horses and sheep to your trap. Remember, they put salt blocks out to attract livestock to areas where they normally won't go so they graze off an area evenly. I use a three rock set in these areas. Big rock behind the trap, and two rocks at an equil triangle to the back rock aligned with the outer jaw on the straight line from the outside edge of both rocks. (Wow, that was clear as mud). Anyway, try a variation of this in livestock areas and you should with a no salt lure or scent be able to keep most of your traps working and the livestock out. | |

| Famale! I caught her by 3 toes but yea the traps I have I got used and need some TLC, but didnt have time before the season to make adjustments so I cleaned them up and set them out. I could use all the advice and tips I can get. My trapping partner has been a good coach this year and given me the tools to get out on my own next year. Thank you to him! I just made some pan covers and will get them fitted for my traps for next season and hopefully try and get my traps working to the best of there ability for next season. | |

| I've got two trail cams, but haven't used them yet. What a great idea to set them up to watch your traps when you have someone stealing from you. Did they just take the cat, or the cat and the trap? I had a kid once sell me a trap that had a number stamped into it. Paid 5 bucks for it, but I contacted Fish and Game and asked if I could find out who it belonged to. They wouldn't tell me, but they contacted the registered owner and he contacted me. I gave him the trap back and he told me that someone had stolen a coyote and the trap. At least he got the trap back and I made a new friend. | |
