| Just a question about skining bobcat's when they are still warm. Is it easier to skin a cat right after dispatch than say three or four hours later? The one's I caught last year were all pretty cool by the time I got home to skin them. Have been thinking about building a portable skinner to fit on the back end of my P/U hitch so I could skin right in the field. I know from what I've read about coyotes it seems to be easier. Thanks. Just wondering. | |

| Skinning warm is alot better but some lines we run are long and don't allow for skinning in the field. So if you have time go for it. If not its all good do it when you get home. I perfer later that way the flea spray works and kills them before I have to mess with them. | |

| Everything skins a lot easier when it is warm. I do skin on my line when I have the time to do it. It will save a lot of time in the long run. Because the animals do skin easier and faster when they are fresh it will take less time than it will after you get home. | |

| Skinned a couple yotes warm last year and man do they peel off easy When Warm. Not as much pulling and tugging. I like what Bucks is saying about the flea and tick spray though. | |

| Most of the time I carry the Raid flea spray in the purple can and you can drop the warm animal into a black plastic bag and give it a spray and in a couple of minutes all of the fleas are dead. I have also had animals that have been dead over night and the fleas will carry you away until they have been sprayed. The cats here aren’t normally bad with fleas, but sometimes they can be. The coyotes and raccoons are flea motels. Some winters the deer ticks can also be a problem on some of the animals and it only takes a couple of minutes to kill all of the fleas and it is sure worth it. | |

| Thanks, I usually spray my fox and coyote when I get them, so from what I'm hearing I better get busy on the skining rig. | |

| Yeah buddy! Maybe you can spray them in the bag then set up the skin'n. By the time you are done sett'n up you should be flea free!!! Good luck with your building and your season. | |
