| Joe has run two of the best rendezvous events we have ever had in NV during the last two summers. Thanks again Joe.
I know it will be a tough act to follow, but if anyone wants to take on this event for this summer please let Joel or I know.
It would be nice if someone in the Reno/Carson area was able to sponsor it this year. The last several years it has been in opposite parts of our great state.
Thanks,
-John | |

| We have a winner!
Mel Belding has volunteered to run the NVTA rondy this summer.
For those who don't know Mel, he is the former President of NBU and a very active trapper and sportsman.
The event is tentatively set for July 29, 30, and 31. And tentatively set for Central NV, either in Austin or Kingston. Great central location for everyone. High beautiful country with cool temps even in July. We will get out the exact dates and location as soon as things firm up.
Thank you Mel.

Mel said it was ok to post his phone number for raffle tickets or any other info. His cell no. is: 775-846-8975.
Anyone else is welcome to call for info or tickets.
He is still firming up the location.

| Joel mentioned to me yesterday that Mel was looking at the Milk Ranch for the location which is between Reno and Pyramid Lake. I haven't been there for years but I know NBU uses it for their big youth events. I believe it is developed for events like ours and others. I don't believe anything is final. I will check tonight with Joel and Mel at the Coalition's Fundraising dinner. | |

| It is scheduled for July 29,30,31 at the Winnemucca Ranch which is about 20 miles north of Reno off of the Pyramid lake Highway. This where NBU puts on the Maison T Ortiz Youth Outdoor Skills Camp just a week before our Rendezvous. ( MTOyouthoutdoorskill.com ) There is plenty of camping room for trailers etc. This is a old ranch with trees and grass and is set up for these types of events. It has been nearly 20 years since a rendezvous has been held in Western Nevada. Should be a great place for the entire family. | |

| As Jim has posted the location is the Winnemucca Ranch which is NOT in Winnemucca.
This location is about a 30 minute drive north of Reno/Sparks.
Take Highway 445 North out of Sparks about 14 miles to the Winnemucca Ranch Rd. Turn left (West) on it and go about another 12 miles or so to the camp. Signs will be posted at every intersection. Camping on site. Motels are in Sparks/Reno which are about a 30 minute drive away.
This is shaping up as a great event. Joe's rondies in Ely set the standard. But Mel has a lot of good stuff planned and it should be a great get together.
And thank you John Graham for coming to our Rondy once again. John will be doing a demo and sitting on a round table discussion with several great western trappers to answer any and all questions you may have. John and other vendors will be offering supplies. It's a great opportunity to stock up on lures and supplies and not pay postage.
Last but not least and probably most important for the future of trapping: bring the kids. This is a very family oriented event with lots of games and prizes for the kids. And trout fishing on site.

| Lance,
I have not been there before, but my understanding is that it is private property not a FS or BLM campground. So no reservations are required. Plenty of room to set up a camp with tent or trailer.

| I am hoping to make it this year. Haven't had the opportunity to trap for the last couple of years, but the trapper in me still lives. | |

| Ridgeback,
I hope you can make it. We all go thru periods in life that it is hard to make the time commitment to set and run a trapline. But the inner trapper never leaves.
I have seen pics of the site and it is a beautiful place. Deer and coyotes on the premises. And several auction/raffle items that are unbelievable.

| Good timing on the reminder Lance.
It's coming up fast, later this month, and I can't wait. Joe set the bar pretty high. It is looking like this rondy will be a great one as well.

| As usual, Lance and his tribe took home a disproportionate share of raffle prizes. But he makes some great coyote sets, I know that.
Had a great time. Love the Rondy and it was well worth the 7 hour drive.

| I was not able to attend the Rondy due to work but from what I have heard it was a blast, I want to thank lance for being a great friend, the guy is solid ! I wish it was possible to hold the Rondys at a latter date more in September there are a group of us that would love to come but cant due to work / wild land fires and I know that it wont work with most hunting schedules hopefully we will get some August monsoon rains and the fires will slow down. its getting a little out of hand. p.s ( Tracy ) I wish we got hazard pay ! | |
