PostSubject: Sportsman's Park near Tonopah . . . question   Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:29 pm

Hey, in June the Wildlife Commission will meet to decide the fate of all Nevada trappers. A few of us have been kicking around the idea of an informal get together that weekend.

I recall seeing Sportsman's Park just 15 minutes north of Tonopah, on highway 376, and wondered if anyone knew if they allowed overnight camping there? I know there are picnic facilities, fishing ponds, etc. but can't remember about the overnight camping.

Anyone know?

I got a response from local trapper Charlie Cecchini, who tells me they do allow overnight camping at the park. The week before the commission meeting is the annual fishing derby there so the ponds will be freshly stocked with trout.
