Hunting season, that is. It always officially starts with the sage grouse hunt.

Didn't shoot any big, black males this year. Going to try some nice young hens on the Treager Grill, smothered in apricot marmalade.

Uh, well . . . They tasted ok, but I still had a hard time with the texture . . . kinda chewy. Its a work in progress.

I've heard that slicing the breast and putting bacon while BBQing or baking works pretty good. I have never tried it myself but adding bacon to most anything is usually good Smile

I tried a batch where I soaked thin sliced breasts in buttermilk overnight, then rinsed them off, coated them with poultry seasoning, and then wrapped them with bacon. The bacon tasted great and the bird wasn't bad . . . but that texture. Evil or Very Mad
