How would you set it up Tracy? Is it a good spot for a walk through would you leave the scratch and turds right as they are? What's the final set look like? I bet you got another pic in your phone shortly after you took that one lol

Lance, I didn't take any other photos. I was trying to get to work and a ways from home.

There is a wash about 10 yards to the east of this toilet, that runs north and south. On the west bank of the wash, there are two large bushes/trees. I don't know what they are (and it probably doesn't matter) but they look like a cross between scrub oak and holly. Anyway, there is a 5 foot space between these two big bushes and that's where the toilet is. So I put a walk through in the wash and blocked it down so anything coming up or down the wash near the toilet would get caught there.

As to the toilet itself, it was a little closer to one bush than another, so I blocked it down in two places about 5 feet apart, with the toilet in between the two sets. Then I applied lots of gland lure to the droppings, some skunky lure on an elevated bush between the two sets, along with a castor based lure low and just inside the blocking on each set. Lots of polyfil.

So if the cat comes down the wash and looks right, he sees poly and gets a whiff of the skunk, etc. If he approaches the sets, he sees the droppings/toilet but has to walk through the set to get to the toilet. On the other hand, if the cat approaches from the west, he has the same dilemma -- has to walk through the set to get to the toilet.

Make sense?

Here's another one about 100 yards away. It looked better in person, but I think you still get the idea. Same thing. It was between two big bushes with sort of a trail between the two bushes to get to the scratch. I set two traps in the trail, one on each side of the toilet so a cat has to cross over a trap to get to the toilet.

I sort of scratch up the area with a toilet like this for eye appeal purposes.

Here is a totally different area from earlier in the year, but the same concept. Big toilet under a juniper tree so I blocked the outside and made a walk through on each "end" of the tree so the cat had to walk through to reach the toilet.

Thanks for the information Tracy, I love poly fill on sage to get a cats attention. Sometimes that's all I have in my bag and hang it as the main attractor. The beaver castor is away from the trap and low right, so maybe the cat wants to get over to it and rub and walks through the blocked off trap, is that the idea? I've missed quite a few cats with beaver based lures where they do weird things around that smell, like drop down and rub the rocks I used to block around the trap. I still use it though, it and skunk.
