| Teach you are the man! I'm envious for sure. I've been to busy lately to keep up and just checked in here for the first time in weeks. My hat is off to anyone trapping, yet alone catching anything in Northern NV right now. Amazing really! | |

| There no doubt about that Moneyspots. I have had 4 sets out here by town and finally pulled em today. Had to chain up to get to them.... I think we got 8" of snow in the last 2 days. Like you said props to those that are still catching for sure. I am done until things thaw and will poke away at some rats. Took my remaining coyotes off of the stretchers and got em tumbled up. Fur on the hangers but nothing but empty stretchers.... kinda feels like I have a hole in me lol | |

| I had another big tomcat waiting for me on my last check. As I looked at the picture I wondered why in the hell I didn't set that cove behind the cat. There were two different fresh tracks working that area the morning I checked, SMH I missed my chance for a double in cats. | |

| I was walking a ledge the other day looking for a possible cat set and my dog started getting "birdy" near some rocks. I watched him start to trail for a while, then eventually start to tree up against a vertical ledge. He tried to climb the ledge several times but it was too steep. I thought it was pretty interesting but had no idea what he was trailing. Then I got the feeling like I was being watched and looked up to see this gray fox staring down at me. Can't hide from a good dog's nose. | |

| Well it's my turn to liven the place up So i'm going to post a little bit about my feb cat line. December and January were very cold and snowy here in MT and the cats got the best of me, as I set up my coyote and cat line for fall, then winter happened in Big way. Not one to admit defeat I set out in Feb to redeem myself. Too much snow to setup camp in the usual spot, so I had to leave the wall tent at home and bring the tipi and sled it in. Took a couple hours of shoveling to clear out a spot. Not my best supper With lots of snow and more forecasted, finding weather proof locations and spots that would burn off quick were my main challenges. That and busting through a couple feet of crusted snow to hike into locations. Trying a couple buried sets this year with pine needles sticking up just outside the pan, but inside the jaws targeting the foot placement. Typical walk thru with turds on either side and gland lure on turds, courtesy of steve woods bobcatching. Results Toilet set Nice Tom, not happy Walk thru with duck wing flagging on fishing line and swivel off of 11 wire. Really increased outside blocking distance this year due to rereading threads on this forum. I think it was rockpile who mentioned increasing distance. More cats, I am horrible about photo taking so I do not have many good cat photos as I am always chasing daylight and also am convinced taking my camera is bad luck. another set stretching cats, bad lighting they are quality a-b cats. good cat 1st week results, gotta love cats in a bag. Well thats all for now, started feb 1st, took a 4 days to get the line in, 7 cats so far and I will continue to try to remember to take more photos and update. | |

| Kind of an update from a week or so ago. I showed a cat toilet under some big wild Holly trees. Someone asked how I set it up. There was sort of a trail between the two trees so I just blocked it down so the toilet was between the two sets I put in (see polyfil for sets). And the results. | |

| wow great cats you guys, I heard you boys did well in Fallon. Sure makes all the hard work worth it when you get paid. Well the season is over for me too and Feb was a good month. Now time dry cats quick and sell. This was the second big tom I took out of this set. Toilets are good When I can get weather proof spots I like to bury traps, note little grass stems inside trap jaws This cat was angry, drag was free but she had wedged herself under this rock and everytime I would try to pull her out she would lunge at me. Last day Tom, made the pain of the season ending at little less sharp. 5 skunks, 3 porcies, 1 badger and 15 cats this month. God is Good, and happy trapping. | |

| Cameron2--are you a grandpa or is that your den?
Seriously, though, that is a cool idea. It would save me heating my whole shed. And save me from buying more stretchers.

. Ya, the grandkids love that room. They were patient with "Tanta" while his "kitties" were using the room to dry.

| Other than playing Tracey's "can you spot the cat" game, I haven't posted here since my first cat and first season back in 2012. I thought that I would put up something besides passports. Here are a few pics from this year. Whenever possible, I try to use more rocks than sticks for blocking and it seems to help, thanks Rockpile. A little bit of everything. One of the three females that I released. Late coyote in a 3N, I got 15 of these traps this year and put PIT pans on some of them. Will get the rest of them done this summer, great traps. Found a toilet a week before season closed, a big tom had been there a couple of days before. I set it up and caught this female on the first check. Season closed before the tom came back. My best season, released 3, kept these 5, the big tom is my biggest ever at 44 inches. Also my best year on badgers, but my worst for coyotes. I have more pics, but they show up upside down. I will post more if I can figure out how to flip them. Thanks to everyone on here, I have learned alot in the last five years. | |
