| CattrapperNV: Sorry for your bad luck. That really bites. On the traps with drags, I have a real good dog and he will find them. If you want to come and get him, just let me know. Another eye test. | |

| That is crazy how blended they can get. The little bit of a catch circle helped me out, but it took five minutes! I kept thinking I'd find somebody photobombing the picture in the background, but no dice.
I love the bare ground down there guys, I'll send a picture of my Toyota stuck in 18 inches of snow today when I try to spring off some traps until later this season.

| CattrapperNV that's sucks about your cat. Lion or another bobcat you think. Also that coyote on the right sure is a pretty one!!
Cameron2 I had to look extra hard but did notice the trap before I did the cat. I really enjoy the hide and seek pictures!
My last check I had to chain up and then fell crotch deep in the creek... glad that was at the end of the trapline and not the beginning. Pulled 5 cats off this line and nothing the last 2 checks. Will pull this line Saturday and set a new area next week.

| Awesome pictures everyone. Looks like everyone is having a good season.
I have pulled everything but 4 traps. Everything else is buried in snow and can't get to it in the truck or by quad. Need to invest in a sled. We have gotten some crazy rain last 2 days which has melted a ton of snow but a muddy mess would be an understatement.
Went and pulled 10 coyotes 2 reds off the stretchers this morning. Will get em all tumbled up and ready to take to the tagging next Tuesday. I am not selling till Fallon but will let ya know what they offer. Will see what they offer on the cats.

| I met the most fearless, ferocious, aggressive, mean cat I've ever run into today. He had about 7 feet of chain to work with and had positioned himself in a place where it was poor footing for the guy trying to dispatch him. Kind of like the Red Baron attacking with the sun at his back. We circled, parlayed, parried and thrust for about 5 minutes. I've never actually been afraid of a cat before but this guy instilled fear in me. He came right to the end of the chain to meet me and took a swipe at me every rush he made. Completely fearless. Not just fearless, I think he really believed he was going to bury me. It was hand-to-claw combat for a while but I eventually prevailed. I salute you Mr. Cat . . . you were a worthy opponent. | |

Right you are there Matty. Were it not for my lightning reflexes, superior athletic prowess, nimble foot speed and my dashing good looks, I could have suffered extreme blood loss. As it is, I just have to replace my best pair of jeans.

| Tracy, glad you made it through okay. I almost blew coffee out my nose reading your two posts, I was laughing WITH you, not at you! 7 feet of chain is more than enough to make them just a little out of the way of a catch pole! Bucks, I feel your pain, I'm out of the trapping business except two cat traps that were covered up with snow from this last snow. We have about three to four times what you have in the picture with your Tacoma. Crazy winter, but we need the moisture! Heading out this morning to trap an area that I've always wanted to trap, but haven't--fingers crossed that it's not buried in 24 inches of snow!
Looking forward to seeing you all in Fallon.

| I use MB 550s and I don't bury the trap, I use either wax dirt, sprinkle some sand, or use asphalt shingles on the pan. I bought some oversized pans that I'll find time one of these years to tack weld on for my pans. | |

| Yes, waxed dirt is the cat's meow for sure. I actually find that when using waxed dirt I like to bury the whole trap. It makes it easier to clean off after a snow. If just using peat moss or dry duff I like a Bridger #4 longspring exposed pan with an electrical box cover riveted on. Those bridgers are very stout, very stout. | |
