| Two items: First, yes, there will be a free lunch on Saturday. If you want to bring a pot luck item, that's great. If you feel real guilty about eating for free, we will have a donation box and you can make contributions to the Nevada Trappers Association, or the Truman Family Educational Fund . . . I can't ever keep those two causes straight. I'm just kidding, all the money goes to the NVTA. Second, I will be demonstrating (informally) the new "Pan Cover-less Pan Covers" that were designed by Mike Kelly and which I use exclusively. With this system, you will never use another pan cover for exposed traps -- no more cutting pan covers, fumbling with paper clips, forgetting pan covers, having rodents steal your pan covers or set off your traps. I will have models for MB traps and Longsprings. Mike is making me up a package to bring as we speak so if anyone has any questions, etc., hook up with Mike Kelly over on Tman. He goes by "Mike Kelly" over there because he's not very creative. See you in a few weeks.

| It's an optical illusion because he traps in such rugged nasty stuff that the pan looks like such a comfy place to put your foot. Oh and he tricks many into his illusion for sure. And of all kinds too!!! | |

| Bucks that is funny! I really like the look of them my self and it does make the illusion of a comfy spot to step. This season was short for me and I'm not trying to take anything away from this pan cover. In fact I am thinking about making something very similar. Anyway I messed up this year in the very beginning and over tighten my pan bolts. I had evidence of this with tracks on my sets. When I discovered the problem I went back in a rush and lightened up the tension but said piss on it and left them all fully exposed. That's right trap pan and all sitting there.Guess what, no more missed and the cats didn't figure out they were stepping on a trap until it was to late. | |

| It is a very nice set up for sure. I like the fact that you don't have something else to pack or look for after a catch. Also bet a pack rat cant get that pan cover off for sure!! | |

| Well, I like lots of others, have been using slip on shingles on my pans. I have been using mostly #3 sleepy creeks for this set. I am going to weld on bigger pans for next season and was going to try the shelf liner for some coilsprings. I am interested by not having to carry pre-cut slip on shinlges for pan covers. It seems I would catch a critter and forget to have an extra handy. Unfortunatly the exposed walk thru is deadly on badgers! | |

There is no real secret. Its a pan designed to increase area and still allow the jaws/levers to function. I just glue corn cob grit on the pan, but you could use sand, dirt, etc.

| Hey Wackmaster, I was looking at sleepy creeks Facebook a month or so ago and they are now making over sized pans. Thought you might be interested. | |

"Another cat?" You mean, more than the one I've caught since Christmas? No, that's a prior cat I just took a close up of the foot/pan for illustration purposes.

| What are you using as an adhesive? How does it hold up after a catch? Do you have to re-apply every season? Thanks. I also checked out the sleepycreek traps. I will see what the $ is when they come out. Thanks | |

| I use a tube of industrial adhesive made by Loctite that I get at Lowes for a couple bucks. Apply it, spread it thin, then mash on the ground covering of your choice. Then wax your trap. The wax seals everything in together. Mine has been on for two seasons now, including bouncing around on the back of a four wheeler for hundreds of miles, and is still in good shape. | |
