I didnt think this passed?? Am I wrong? I found it on the NDOW website under fur-bearers.

NRS 503.452  Registration or marking of traps, snares and similar devices; fee for registration; unlawful possession of trap registered to another person without written permission; confidentiality of registration information.

     1.  Each trap, snare or similar device used in the taking of wild mammals must be registered with the Department before it is used. Each registered trap, snare or similar device must bear a number which is assigned by the Department and is affixed to or marked on the trap, snare or similar device in the manner specified by regulations adopted by the Commission. The registration of a trap, snare or similar device is valid until the trap, snare or similar device is sold or ownership of the trap, snare or similar device is otherwise transferred.

     2.  A registration fee of $10 for each registrant is payable only once by each person who registers a trap, snare or similar device. The fee must be paid at the time the first trap, snare or similar device is registered.

Do you think NDOW's site isnt up to date? I've been searching the mighty web and I cant come up with a 2014 NRS. Maybe its not out?

I looked at their sight when I purchased my trapping licence this October. I could not find anything about trap identification. I did register last year but have never received or could find the info you posted.

Update: I went to NDOWs sight and under Furbearer there is an NRS. I clicked on it and it takes you to this link.

http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-503.html#NRS503Sec454

It looks real clear to me that this is the current law in effect.

Man that really sucks! I am loaded and chompin at the bit to set up on Monday!

What did you guys do to put your registration # on your traps? copper tags? I really dont want to wait to order copper tags. Small flat strips of aluminum from the hardware store should work right?

The registration statute was NOT approved by the legislative oversight committee and thus was NOT signed into law. It had not private property exclusion so the committee rejected it and it will have to be dealt with in the next legislature.
