fresh bobcat urine

A good friend of mine caught a female last night! after she was dispatched we collected the urine. I caught a female off a farm about a month ago and the farmer said that he had been seeing a big tom he figured very close to the same area as I caught the female! Is the fresh urine as good as Ive heard it is? If so is a qutip good enough or should I use more like a cottenball in my set! Its been slow here on spots so every bit of advice is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!

I use a fair amount out of a spray bottle. I spray it in the back of the cage trap. I dont know about leg hold trapping though.

thanks wildman! I dont have a whole lot so Im trying to experiment on how much will work! I am using a qutip right now and I did catch another female yesterday so I have more urine now! I hope an ol tom comes wondering by and smells his girlfriend!!!!

Congrats, hope you catch alot more. you might want to save the glands to use as bait. Search the site to find alot more info.

On the legholds its a little different. If you are using a walkthru set I suggest not to use it unless you have some good brush at the set. Use it there but not before or after the set. This will usually make the tom back up and pee there without walking thru. If you are using a dirthole or cubby set for sure use it at the back of the set or on the backing. Good luck!! I think that Congress can pass a budget sooner than the cat catching will pick up. Hope that isn't the case, but just seems like it.

Thx for the advice gents!!! I picked up some more long springs from a guy the other day so hopefully by the end of the month my pan tension kits will be here, installed, and traps dyed!!! That will put me at around 30 sets!!!! I cant wait!!! I wish I could do this for a living!!!
