I bought some of the Scoutguard cameras that Cameron2 sells and they are about the best I have found. Maybe not the cheapest but worth the money.

I have a friend who has one and they are alright but seem to be ultra sensitive( 100 pics of wind blowing trees ) I used to use 3 cuddebacks but down to 1 because of theives. They are to expensive to give away so I too am looking for a cheeper camera that works good. Let me know if you find one.

Good lesson to be learned from the bobcats eating the beaver. I always set at least two sets fairly close to one another, and a lot of time 3 in the same area. I do try to set them so they are 5 to 10 yards apart. Have caught many doubles, and once a triple. Just food for thought.

Guess I'm going to have to break down and find/buy a trail cam.
Held off for a long time as I won't pay a lot for one.
The one I really want is 500 or so. Don't think I'll be getting one of those anytime soon. lol!

I perfer the cheaper ones for 2 reasons. First is the cost and the cheaper cameras see to take just as good pics as the others. Just not as many options. Second is if someone finds it and wants it? I would rather loose a 60$ camera than a 500$ one??

I've seen what's in the bargin cave at C's in fact I knew of a pair of walkie talkies (I returned and didn't work well) that went right into the cave.
So real leary of buying anything that is returned and put in the cave that is electronic.
Only thing I've seen at the local wally world has been $90 and up.
I'll keep looking and maybe one day I'll get lucky and get a good buy.

I've bought two from Sportsman Guide and got both for under 70 dollars. One has a camo outer housing and the other is black. I haven't set them out in the woods, but they do take great pics around the house.

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and saw 2 trail cams for $50.00 ea. They were a 1.3 megpix, but hey, they will get the job done for me. I want to use them for scouting this summer and fall. Does anyone else out there use trail cams for scouting? If so, how do you set them up, such as put out bait, urine, call lure, carcass??? Let me know so I can figure out what is going to work best. I have an idea of putting out some skinned beaver and some fish oil and such (cat urine in a couple of areas where there are some good toilets).

a $50 camera doesnt hurt as bad if someone walks off with it as much as say a 200-300 cuddyback or something like that, i plan on using mine this summer with my electric squeekers i ordered and am going to put alittle gland lure and urine out in a couple differant places i havent trapped to see what is all there

Tonight I purchased 6 "Wildgame Innovations 2.0 Mp Trail Cameras" from Sportsman Guide online. They had them priced at $35.97 with free shipping. Will add these to my arsenal of other trail cams for scouting the trapline for next year. At this price, I figured a half doz. cams was worth the price. If somebody steals them, I'm not out that much. This sale price ends at Midnight of 4-4-2012, so if you want some you had better act fast.
