Weathers been rotten early here. No winter until last week then we got it all at once, then it thawd, and now its freezeing.
I'm gonna try some exposed pan sets for the first time because of the weather. I've got 2 cats I'm trying to zero in on which is good for me. The last 2 seasons I haven't even found tracks til halfway through the season. This is small potatoes to most of you but it's progress for me. Still trying for that first cat. I like how Bghunters idea of slow is 6 cats, haha. I hope I get there some day.

You were making me jealous there. We can only take 5 per person in my region so as a newbie I'll be happy to get 1. Got 3 beaver already and plenty more places to catch them til April 15th. I only caught 3 all year last season. Got some muskrat sets out that are probably froze up as we speak. We'll see after work. Tough to get a legitimate line going as I have 2 young boys (1 and 3). I'll get more time on the line when they get older and I can bring them more places.

we have no limit on cats, i try and set everything i own for cats, i have got coyotes, coons and possums in the sets but with the blocking it really knocks the coyote catches down, not really interested in mangy coyotes, caught 1 in a snare that was real good last year, but i mainly go for cats, heck i had my boy out in a car seat with me changing diapers and bottle feeding him, his first word was dadda, this third word was big buck, LOL, by the time he was 3, he was walking small patches of grass[swathed] bird hunting, been trapping with me as long as he could walk, i like to trap, i love to trap with my son, you have some mighty good times on the line coming

Got my first 2 muskrat last night, and cut a new set of bobcat tracks as well. Heading out after work to track them and put out some more sets. Work til 4 and gets dark at 5 so i'll have to book it to make the most of daylight then fumble around in the dark for a bit.
