 electric fence post

has anyone ever made stakes out of these, i found 8 strung down the road, they are 4 ft long and not quite 1/2" but bigger than 3/8", cut them in half, you have 2 ft stakes, or are they to soft?

I have used them on small critters but they don't hold real well.
